If you have a few days, be sure to check out Boston attractions as well—Boston is only 12 miles away!

Boston is known both for its amazing museums and immense history. For museums, check out The Museum of Science, which covers everything from dinos to space travel. The New England Aquarium features a 200,000 gallon giant ocean tank, and is Boston’s most visited tourist attraction. The John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum and Library explores the achievements and challenges of Kennedy’s presidency.

Boston is truly a city of neighborhoods. Back Bay features Fenway Park, the oldest Major League baseball park in the US; Newbury Street, home to chic boutiques and funky galleries; the Esplanade, where Boston Pops perform for the Fourth of July, on the banks of the Charles; and Copley Square, home of the John Hancock Building and “the Pru” (the Prudential Building). Closer to downtown, the Boston Common and Public Gardens are beautiful green spaces in the city; be sure to take a ride on the Swan Boats in Public Gardens. Beacon Hill is nearby, with narrow brick streets and gorgeous townhomes, you’ll feel just a bit like you’re living a few centuries ago. The North End is Boston’s original Italian neighborhood, and to this day, you’ll never have a better Italian dinner.

Of course, Boston is bursting with history. The Freedom Trail, marked by a painted line, takes visitors past Old North Church and many other historic colonial sites. Faneuil Hall Marketplace was one of the first urban historic shopping areas and has been in its original spot, very close to the site of the Boston Massacre, since the early 19th century. Quincy Market is adjacent to this historical spot and provides great shopping and restaurants. The Granary Burying Ground is the final resting place for Paul Revere, John Hancock and Sam Adams, and also Mother Goose. The Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the patriots’ bravery in defeat at the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill.

Boston is justifiably proud of its sports teams. The Red Sox, pride of Boston, light up Fenway. The New England Patriots, playing in nearby Foxboro, have had very successful seasons. The Boston Celtics have an amazing basketball tradition in Boston Garden, while the Boston Bruins provide hockey excitement.
